The Kawai Model 500 is a 5'10" grand built in Japan during the 1960s, when Kawai first earned its reputation in North America for professional-quality pianos at accessible prices. Designed as Kawai’s smaller conservatory grand, the 500 is the direct predecessor to the celebrated KG-2 and shares its size and string design. Its longer length gives it a fuller bass and more power than a typical baby grand, making it an excellent fit for a serious player who wants a true conservatory-class instrument without the conservatory-class price.
