What you can play this week

Six of the 40 instruments on the floor, grands first. Every figure here is the figure you pay — delivery to a Southlake address and the first tuning, once the piano has settled into the room, are already inside it.

Why Southlake buyers make the drive

You can order a piano from anywhere. What you cannot do from anywhere is play twenty of them in an afternoon, which is the only way anybody has ever actually chosen one. Two acoustic pianos of the same model, built weeks apart, do not feel identical under the hand. The difference between a 48-inch upright and a five-foot grand is not a specification you can read — it is something your fingers tell you inside four bars.

Ten minutes matters less for the first visit than for the third. Choosing an instrument that will sit in the same room for the next thirty years is not a single-afternoon decision, and a showroom you can drop into on the way back from Town Square is a showroom you will actually use twice. Most people who buy from this floor came back at least once, usually with the person who is going to practise on it.

The questions that come from Carroll ISD families are consistent enough to predict. The teacher has asked for weighted keys and a real action; the child has been practising on something borrowed; and the room that has to take the piano is the formal one nobody sits in. That last part is usually good news — a formal living room is very often exactly the size a baby grand wants, and there are 8 on the floor at the moment. Our guide to how much room a grand needs has the clearances if you would rather measure before you come.

The prices are on the page, all of them. Today the floor runs $949 to $78,295, and the cheapest route to a properly weighted action is $949 for a digital. Piano retail has a long habit of hiding that number until it knows your budget, and we would rather you arrived already knowing whether we are worth the drive. Our piano price guide sets out what each band buys, and what $5,000 actually buys in DFW if that is where you are starting.

We opened in Colleyville in April 2026, so we are not going to claim decades on this corner. What we can claim is a floor you can stand on today, with 6 certified pre-owned instruments on it alongside the new stock, and prices that do not move depending on who is asking.

Getting here from Southlake

Ten minutes from Southlake Town Square

Southlake sits directly north of Colleyville, and every route between the two is a straight one. White Chapel Boulevard runs down from Southlake into Colleyville; Southlake Boulevard (FM 1709) connects across to it from the east and west sides of town. Coming off SH-114, head south rather than continuing east towards the airport. Ten minutes is the ordinary figure — a little more around the school run, a little less on a Saturday morning.

There is no appointment system and nobody here works on commission, so come as you are, and come more than once. Bring the music you are actually working on rather than a piece you play well: a passage you find difficult tells you more about an action in thirty seconds than a demonstration will in ten minutes. If the piano is for a child, bring the child — the instrument has to suit the person who will sit at it every day, not the person paying for it.

Before a second visit, measure the wall or the corner the piano has to live in, and note where the windows and the air vents are. Those two details decide more about which instrument is right for a Southlake house than almost anything on a spec sheet.

Questions Southlake buyers ask

Where is the closest piano store to Southlake, TX?

North Texas Piano Gallery, in Colleyville — about ten minutes south of Southlake Town Square. The full address, phone number and opening hours are printed on this page, and the showroom currently holds 40 pianos you can sit down and play, 13 grands and 14 uprights among them, all on one floor.

How long does it take to drive from Southlake to your showroom?

Roughly ten minutes door to door. Southlake sits directly north of Colleyville, so White Chapel Boulevard runs almost straight down to us, and Southlake Boulevard (FM 1709) connects across to it. If you are coming off SH-114, head south rather than east towards the airport. Allow a few extra minutes either side of the school run.

Can I compare a grand and an upright in the same visit?

That is the entire point of a showroom. Every available instrument is out, tuned and open: 13 grands, 8 of them baby grands, plus 14 uprights, 11 digitals and 2 hybrids. Play the same piece on three of them in a row — it settles the question faster than any specification sheet will.

Do you deliver to Southlake, and what does that involve?

Yes, and it is inside the price rather than added to it. Moving a piano is really two jobs: getting the instrument into the room you want it in, and letting it settle there afterwards. Tell us in advance if it has to go up a flight of stairs or round a tight landing. Once it has spent a few weeks learning what the humidity in your house is doing, we come back and tune it.

My child's teacher has asked for an acoustic piano. Where should we start?

With a full-size upright, usually. It gives a beginner real hammers striking real strings — which is what the teacher is asking for — in a footprint that takes less floor than a sofa. Uprights here start at $3,500. If that is out of reach this year, a properly weighted digital is a bridge rather than a compromise, and our digital-versus-acoustic guide explains where the line actually falls.

Come and play them.

Ten minutes from Southlake Town Square. Bring the music you are actually working on and take as long as you need — the floor is open and nobody is counting the minutes.
